A.T.C. - This beat is def b/w Down by the bay
[Macola / Scarface MRC-1037] 1987

a very nice chaotic classic from San Francisco with some hard beats, pure Bay-area hardcore hip hop here produced by Paris.

A.T.C. - Cisco Jam/It's A Life/Time To Bill
[Macola / Scarface MRC-1072] 1988

"Cisco jam" features a very deep low bass, the style differs a lot from their first 12" but it's also good, however this release is not as good as "This beat is def". The other 2 tracks are dope but not to be labelled classic. Check it out yourself. [DOWNLOAD]

Almighty "3" - To The Other M.C.'S
[Pop Art PA-1407] 1985

I guess the beatcreator discovered the claps on his drumcomputer composing the beat for this tune... while the featuring mc's give "the other mc's" around some advise. Dope legendary east coast hip hop. [DOWNLOAD]

Bang O - Big Bang O Theory / Mass Movement
[Rhyme Syndicate 49 73111] 1989

Oh my God. Check out the first track on this beauty... pretty disappointing I'd say, but on a legendary label like this featuring a great rapper (member of Ice-T's Rhyme Syndicate Crew) it's too hard to believe all tracks are crap, so give it a chance and skip to the second track which is a remix version of the first track. I don't understand why they released the original version in the first place when comparing it to the remix but you'll find out what I mean. Then flip the record and check side B: another great tune to blow away some dust off your speakers! [DOWNLOAD]

The Buzy Boyz - Stop Jockin Me / B-stro Release It / Immaculate
[Bee Pee 697] 1987(?)

another great chaotic classic from the east coast. If you like hard noisy beats, raw scratches and penetrating vocals get your hands on this! Note that the A and B sides are exactly the same which means it only features the vocal versions on both sides. OH.10 - In Full Effect!!! Cleveland Style
[OH10-001] 1988

...Let's forget the alphabetical order I started these posts in, who gives a f***. Check out this rare LP featuring a selection of Ohio's finest back in 1988 which was produced by Casper Cee and Grandwizzard Johnny O who had also dropped a 12" single named "Me and the boyz" featuring the B-side "When it breaks" (Jammit Recordings JK-008). Oh10 defenitely put themselves on the Hip Hop map dropping this jammie with their own type of sound and style.  [DOWNLOAD]

Kaos - Court's In Session
[Bad Boy BAD 002] 1987

Yeah. BAD indeed. Not BAD meaning Bad but BAD meaning good. A great underground Hip Hop classic album which is, if you ask me, being re-discovered by heads browsing the internet and didn't know about this group or album before in the time when it originally came out. This includes me to be honest, I didn't know this group before somewhat 3 years ago. [DOWNLOAD]

Finally I did it! It took me 3 years to decide I should make some time free to do another dope 80's Hip Hop mix. After thinking of an official release I decided to drop that whole idea when considering the copyright issue I bumped into. Let's keep it 'mix-tape-ish'... So grab it, check it out, put it in your box and see how loud you can blast your radio

One of my all time favorite groups straight outta Philly is the Tuff Crew. I put the vocal versions of their first 2 12"s from '86, their share on Phanjam '87 and their debut LP Danger Zone '88 together for y'all in one file so you can hear the progress of this legendary Hip Hop group. Only a year later in 1989 Tuff Crew came back, "Back to wreck shop". A very good album as well, for me personally this was their last -Tuff Crew TUFF- album. I added the remix version of "she rides the pony" and a dope track they probably did between this album and "Still Dangerous" (which I don't rate as high as their earlier work) in 1991 called "Hittin' Hard Balls". This duo has also featured on the Phanjam LP with their "B-Boy Document" and "Kick The Ball", Tuff Crew affiliated though not from Philly but from Camden, NJ. Kick it!!!
